ML Basses neck is the core of outstanding quality. ML unique construction ensure lifetime stability, tuning and strings height consistency, note-to-note balance, great strings tension and superior feel.

While maintaining the resonant characteristic of single piece neck construction but also the evenness of laminated necks, ML design is the close calibration between flexibility and stiffness. This results on a great percussive and responsive feel.

Dual-action rod, thick maple headplate, reinforced headstock and heel ensure strength and longevity. And on ML fretted models, 16" radius rosewood fingerboard provide warmth, punch and great playability.

ML neck back shapes are smooth and fast, consistent and well proportioned between 4, 5 and 6 strings models. Necks are carved rounder on 4 strings and flatter with thicker shoulders on 5 and 6 strings, preserving thumb and palm comfort for diverse techniques.
                                                                                                                                                         

• Special oil blend all-weather finish

Made to age beautifully, ML traditional varnish, not commonly used on factory manufactured guitars, requires advanced hand skill techniques but results in a semi-lust finish that will not cloud, yellow, chip or crack with age or when exposed to various environments.

Hardened and deeply penetrated into the wood but also very thin on the surface, the finish allows the wood to vibrate openly while enhancing its grain patterns with deep transparency. These characteristics really play a important role in ML Basses rich, complex, sparkling and growling tone.

Our thin surface finish also helps at performing critical repairs if the instrument would be damaged accidentally, avoiding complete refinishing and better preserving your bass originality through time.
                                                                                                                                                         

• Scratch-free black thumbguard

ML Basses thumbguard practical design is made of durable, shock resistant abs and will not shrink or ripple with time. • Threaded-inserts electronic cavity cover

Not screwed directly into the wood but secured by brass inserts and machine screws, the electronic cover will stay secured through ages. ML electronic cavity is designed to be reliable, self-contained and easily customizable for future electronic up-grades or modifications.
                                                                                                                                                         
For bassist that prefers active pickups, comes the EMG X-Series DCX and CSX pickups. These dual-coil pickups will give you great versatility with extra clean and quiet extended frequency range.

On ML Volcan and ML Mentor models, also offered are the EMG X-Series TWX dual-mode pickups. These are both single and dual-coil pickups in one with push/pull volume for mode selection. With added two tones and a boost switch for better dynamic control when switching between single or dual-coil.
